Note from Mark As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. Psalm 42:1 (NLT) I am writing this right before heading on a week of vacation with my family. I am so grateful for God’s provision for Neighborhood Church and am excited for the future. As we are in the middle of summer, I would encourage you to take the time to rest, reflect, make memories, and draw closer to God. Within me there is a thirst to go deeper with God, to be filled more fully with His life. Yes, I know the Holy Spirit is given the movement we say “yes” to Jesus, but that does not mean we should stop longing after God. My hope and prayer is for you to be thirsting after God and if you have somewhere lost your thirst, may you become thirsty again! MINISTRIESNeighborhood Kids Leader: Karin Sauder, [email protected] A safe place for children to meet Jesus, know Jesus & learn to share Jesus. We are deep into our adventure studying the Fruits of the Spirit in Little Kids and the Books of the Bible in Big Kids this month. We have welcomed some new faces in Neighborhood Kids, and we have also sadly said our goodbyes to Will and Luke Holt and their family as they have moved to Florida. We had our second Kid’s Tent at the Derwood Farmer’s Market this month and met a bunch of great kids and their parents from our community. Have a happy, safe summer everyone! Neighborhood Youth Leader: Tim Allen, [email protected] A place for teens to meet Jesus, know Jesus & be encouraged to share Jesus. Neighborhood Youth wrapped up its “Soundtracks” series and has officially entered summer mode! This summer, we’re focusing on simply hanging out with one another and building connections. So far, we’ve enjoyed a dinner out at Five Guys, a movie night & a game night. We’re looking forward to more fun nights, so be sure to invite your friends! Worship & Production Team Leader: Mel Neely, [email protected] We are a diverse community of followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by His Spirit with one heart and one mind to invite and lead in declaring His worth. The Neighborhood Church Worship & Production team continues to lift high the name of Jesus through our in person and online services. This month Mel Neely, Adaora and Tim Allen led worship during our Sunday services along with our dedicated team of instrumentalists and vocalists. On Saturday, June 24th, Mel, Donna, Richard, Tim, Eric and Jeff represented the Worship & Production Team at the Derwood Market. We prayed for the vendors and guests and sang Jesus over our Neighborhood…sharing over 20 unique songs of praise! On Thursday evenings the team engaged with devotionals about Pessing On and reinforcing our series on Stories of Transformation and Nehemiah. These times were led by Eric, Adaora & Mel. We shared praises and prayer requests, praying for each other and over Neighborhood Church. We welcomed our newest member, Laura McCrum on June 4th! Laura adds sweet bluegrass vocals and the additional layer of the mandolin to our band. Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD ! Praise the LORD ! Psalm 150: 4-6 Our Worship & Production team continues to thrive under the leadership of Jeff Geraci. We are thankful to have a truly multigenerational team with middle school, high school and adult volunteers working together to make our Sunday services in person and online possible. We continue to implement what we learned about mixing at our May training and began implementing click tracks at our Thursday practices.
