I am encouraged to hear stories of Triads as they have begun over the past month. Triads are a place for people to grow in relationship with God and one another. It provides a flexible place to continue to invest over the summer.  I am not sure of what your plans are for the summer but my hope is that in all your summer rhythms you make time to continue to grow in relationship with God and one another.

MINISTRIES

NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS
Leader: Karin Sauder, [email protected]
A safe place for children to meet Jesus, know Jesus & learn to share Jesus.

Neighborhood Kids continued our travels through the Bible this month, with the Little Kids learning stories from the New Testament, and the Big Kids studying Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther. Our Kid’s Tent at the market continues, with a big shout out to Levi Neely for helping to man the tent this month! We had a fun Parents Night Out on May 10, where we had dinner and movies for the kids here at the church and gave our parents some much needed time off! Thanks to the Neighborhood Kids Volunteers for making that happen. Speaking of volunteers, we want to welcome our newest volunteers, Olivia Berryhill and Brittany Segundo. So happy to have you on the team! And finally,  we said a fond farewell to Miss Bonnie, as she left for Florida for the summer. We can’t wait to see you in October Miss Bonnie!

NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH
Leader: Tim Allen, [email protected]
A place for teens to meet Jesus, know Jesus & be encouraged to share Jesus.

This month, Neighborhood Youth did a series entitled, “Ways We Hear from God, Part 2,” where the students took time to reflect on God’s word & in response, had a chance to create art. It has been a fun way to see how God can speak through visual art. Many of the students commented on how peaceful this experience was.

WORSHIP & PRODUCTION TEAM
Leader: Mel Neely, [email protected]
We are a diverse community of followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by His Spirit with one heart and one mind to invite and lead in declaring His worth.

The Neighborhood Church Worship & Production team continues to lift high the name of Jesus through our in person and online services. This month Mel Neely and Adaora led worship during our Sunday services along with our dedicated team of instrumentalists and vocalists.
On Thursday evenings the team engaged with devotionals encouraging each other to look full on the wonderful face of Jesus. These times were led by Mel, Adaora, Eric and Devin. We shared praises and prayer requests, praying for each other and over Neighborhood Church.

To close out April, Mel, Tim, Eric and Pastor Mark partnered to lead an Evening of Worship and Prayer. This was a beautiful collaboration between Neighborhood Youth and our Tuesday Prayer Gathering. Adults and students prayed and worshipped together as we lived out being a multigenerational, multi-ethnic Church.

On Saturday, May 11, Mel, Donna, Eric, Richard, Evan and Holly provided music at our Derwood Market. The Name of Jesus was lifted on high and you could sense the atmosphere shift of the presence of the Spirit! Glory to God! The team will be our at the market again on July 13 and August 17. We would love to see you there.

Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD ! Praise the LORD !
Psalm 150: 4-6

We are thankful to have a truly multigenerational team with middle school, high school and adult volunteers working together to make our Sunday services in person and online possible. We are excited about the addition of Natalie and Devin on team! They came out to practice and are in the process of learning the sound board and Proclaim.

BECAUSE of God’s faithfulness, our Worship & Production Team is living on mission as a multi-ethnic, multigenerational team being transformed by Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit and inviting the Neighborhood Church family to be launched on mission with them!

NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS
Leader: Pam Homan, Matt Sale & Mark Trinkl, [email protected]
A place for making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and being launched on mission together.

Two new ways of connecting have begun during the month of May. The women's book club is reading "Pathways to the King, Living a Life of Spiritual Renewal and Power", by Rob Reimer and have been discussing kingdom pathways that we need to incorporate and internalize in order to experience and expand God’s Kingdom on Earth. Neighborhood Triads are also underway! This is a new ministry of Neighborhood Church and we have 13 Triads meeting together which includes a total of 39 individuals participating. A Triad is an intentional relationship with three people and Jesus as part of the Discipleship Pathway to have holistically healthy (head, heart, hands) disciples of Jesus who multiply disciples and churches. Triads offer a safe place to come as you are, sit with God and others, and invite them into more of your life through daily practices and occasional meetings. Finally, our first summer social (a talent show!) will take place on Friday, June 28, from 7-9 pm. See the church website for details and to sign up to show your talent or RSVP in general.

Neighborhood Church Vision: Launch Multiple Gatherings in Multiple Locations
(Acts 2:42-47)

In May, I was able to attend the Mid-Atlantic District Missions conference called Converge. It was a great time of learning about the vision that the Christian & Missionary Alliance has for the future of Missions as well as learning how to better support and be a part of Mission as the local Church.

In May, the Farmer’s Market continued and we welcomed the Neighborhood Church Worship and Production team for the first time this season. Where they filled the market with the wonderful sound of praises towards Jesus. If you haven’t experienced the Market yet this year make sure you come out or sign up.

This month has been a huge month for me personally as I went back down to Georgia to participate in my graduation ceremony at Toccoa Falls College as well as be baptized on campus. It was an amazing experience and I am so thankful for my time there. I also finished the final steps in my Alliance Accreditation process and became officially Accredited with the Christian & Missionary Alliance.
