Note from Mark The days are getting shorter and the mornings are cooler….a reminder of the changing seasons. A month into the fall semester of ministry and I am seeing God at work among us. I have seen God at work as people have supported Holly Mullen and the family with the loss of Jim to cancer. I have seen Neighborhood Groups wrestling and praying for one another in learning to live free. I have seen people listening and responding to God in prayer and there are many ways I see God healing, individually and collectively, as a church. My prayer is in the season, may we continue to pray the simple prayer, “God, I invite you in to all areas of my life for you to bring freedom through the Holy Spirit. I pray this in Jesus name." MINISTRIESNeighborhood Kids Leader: Karin Sauder, [email protected] A safe place for children to know Jesus, grow in Jesus & learn to go share Jesus. The theme for the month in Neighborhood Kids was “Trust”, where we talked about trusting in the Lord rather than in ourselves. Our memory verse was Proverbs 3:5-6, and prizes were awarded at the end of the month for all the kids who memorized it! We are looking forward to the new school year with new friends, learning about our amazing God! Neighborhood Youth Leader: Tim Allen, [email protected] A place for teens to meet Jesus, know Jesus & be encouraged to share Jesus. The youth group finished the summer out with a pool party hosted by the Neely’s and then kicked off the fall with the traditional Yuck Ball event! Since then, the students and leaders have been meeting every Tuesday night for dinner, games & time of discussion. Also this fall, Neighborhood Youth welcomed two new leaders, Katie Winter and Eric Peacock! We’re excited to have them join the team. Worship & Production Team Leader: Mel Neely, [email protected] We are a diverse community of followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by His Spirit with one heart and one mind to invite and lead in declaring His worth. The Neighborhood Church Worship & Production team continues to lift high the name of Jesus through our in person and online services. This month Mel, Adoara and Joseph Villacis led worship along with our dedicated team of instrumentalists and vocalists. On Thursday evenings, the team engaged with the Living Free Neighborhood Group material and shared praises and prayer requests. Our Worship & Production team continues to thrive under the leadership of Jeff Geraci. We are thankful to have a truly multigenerational team with middle school, high school and adult volunteers working together to make our Sunday services in person and online possible. BECAUSE of God’s faithfulness, our Worship Team is living on mission as a multi-ethnic, multigenerational team being transformed by Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit and inviting the Neighborhood Church family to be launched on mission with them! Neighborhood Groups Leader: Jen Ashby, [email protected] Our primary venue for making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and living on mission together.
Missions Team Leader: Jen Ashby, [email protected] We are launched on His mission from our neighborhoods to the nations. (Acts 1:8)
Welcome Team Leader: Contact Rose Ojwiga, [email protected] We will be a community that is authentic, transparent & creates space for real relationships (Acts 2:42) We welcome all new people attending services with us. We’re praying that they will encounter Jesus in our gathering, continue to worship with us and become members of Neighborhood Church. LEADERSHIPStaff Mark Trinkl, Jen Ashby, Tim Allen, Linnea Allen, Melanie Neely, Karin Sauder & Dana Zetterberg Leader: Mark Trinkl, [email protected] The staff manages Neighborhood Church ministry teams. The staff of Neighborhood Church has been busy with the fall semester of ministry and collaborating together for different events like Trunk or Treat and an Advent event. We are praying for God to use all of these ministries and events to see people transformed by Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit and launched on mission. After the second Sunday Gathering on September 25, the staff hosted a Meet the Staff lunch for those that are newer to Neighborhood Church. It was a fun casual time to get to know each other and share more about what Neighborhood Church is all about. Elders Mark Trinkl, Evan Homan, Steve Beardsley, Mark Neely & Keith Luse Leader: Mark Trinkl, [email protected] The Elders shepherd and give spiritual oversight to Neighborhood Church. As elders, we are committed to pray and shepherd this congregation through whatever seasons of life. Once a month we have communion and a time of healing prayer in the service. We are also willing to pray for you whenever you ask. Jim Mullen was one of the Elders of the church and we are grieving his loss. His love and care for people will be genuinely missed. Board of Governance Mark Trinkl (Chair), Evan Homan (Vice Chair), Matt Sale (Treasurer), Sarah Luse (Secretary), Angela Drumm & Steve Beardsley The Board will meet on December 12th with a focus on connecting with Christ and our biblical mission and values. This will also be a time to talk through the 2023 budget. Jim Mullen, was a long time Board Member and had just stepped down last year as Treasurer. His financial understanding, insight into other areas, smile and wit, will all be greatly missed.
