MEET JESUS KNOW JESUS SHARE JESUS
Neighborhood Kids is a safe place for children to meet Jesus, know Jesus & learn to share Jesus. We meet Sunday mornings during the 10:30am Sunday Gathering where screened and trained volunteers provide age-appropriate teaching, music, and activities that are just right for your child's exploring spirit! We offer four different classrooms based on your child's age: Tiny Kids (birth-2 year olds), Little Kids (3-5 year olds), Big Kids 1 (1st & 2nd Grade) & Big Kids 2 (3rd-5th Grade). At Neighborhood, we also value all generations worshiping together. If you desire to worship together with your whole family on the upper floor, please feel free to do so. If at any point during the service your child needs a little more room, the cafe off of the foyer is open for you where the service is also livestreamed.
CHECKING IN & PICKING UP
Parents and guardians can quickly and easily check-in their children through the computer kiosks in the upstairs foyer before taking their children into the sanctuary with them (parents of Tiny & Little Kids, the classrooms are open if you wish to directly take your child to the first floor after check in). Upon checking-in, parents will receive copies of printed tags. One copy will stay with you while the second copy will go with your child to their classroom. These tags will help later ensure a smooth and safe pick-up procedure at the end of the service. After some time of worshiping together, the children will be dismissed with their teachers and helpers to their classrooms on the first floor. If a child is two years or younger, we ask that you would walk with your child to their classroom. These will be the same classrooms where the children are to be picked up following the service.

PARENTING RESOURCE - PARENTCUE APP
As a parent, some of the most important things you do for your child don’t happen in a single day. You make small deposits in their life week after week—over time. That’s why the Parent Cue App gives weekly cues to help you make the most of the time you spend with your kid or teenager. These weekly cues will change with your child, staying relevant to their phase of life—from babies to high school. The app will connect you with Bible stories and verses to talk to your child about, and will cue you with words to say and things to do connected with the naturally occurring times that already happen every day. Download this resource from your favorite App store! |

#SHAREJESUS WITH KIDS
If there is one thing we want our children's ministry volunteers and parents to know is how to talk about Jesus with kids in a way that makes sense and relates to the rest of life. Erika Thornton from Great Commission Community Church is ready to show us how. Erika Thornton studied Youth and Family Ministries at Nyack College, where she met her husband, Jonathan. She has served as a Children’s Director in NY and the youth coordinator for the Metro district. She also served for seven years in the Candidate Development Office of the C&MA. In 2014, she moved to VA with her family to church plant for a few years before serving at GCCC. Erika loves teaching people about Jesus, empowering parents, and getting kids excited about listening and obeying God’s voice. |
