Note from Jen Hi there! I'm Jen Ashby, the Executive Director of Ministries at Neighborhood Church. As I write this, it is 48 degrees outside, and last week we had sleet.. BUT God gave us beautiful, sunny days for our Spring Carnival and opening day of the Derwood Farmers Market! This season of the year, in which we tend to be particularly "launched on mission" is in full swing! We blessed Pastor Mark and his family to begin a sabbatical on April 24, and while we value them and will miss them, God is still here, and this a great time to engage at Neighborhood Church. We're excited to be serving our community, worshiping with familiar and new friends on Sunday mornings, and walking with each other through the joys and challenges of life. As you read below, please take a moment to lift up Neighborhood Church in prayer, and let's expect God to continue working in and through us in the weeks to come. MINISTRIESNeighborhood Kids Leader: Karin Sauder, [email protected] A safe place for children to know Jesus, grow in Jesus & learn to go share Jesus. April was a busy and eventful month in NKids. First and most importantly, Caleb Escobar said his first Yes to Jesus on Sunday April 4th during Neighborhood Kids! All the angels are rejoicing as one more person enters the family of God! Palm Sunday involved a victorious parade of palm waving kids and families as we remembered Jesus’s entrance into Jerusalem. Then, the Spring Carnival made its post pandemic comeback on April 16 and was a resounding success. Feedback was enthusiastic and positive. Thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible! Easter was a joyful time of celebration with our kids participating in a Praise Parade during the 10:30 service, followed by fun Easter activities in NKids! Neighborhood Groups Leader: Jen Ashby, [email protected] Our primary venue for making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and living on mission together. The rest of our winter/ spring Neighborhood Groups concluded, and we are poised to connect with newer attenders at "Meet the Staff" on May 1. Mark your calendars for church-wide socials on June 26, July TBD, and August 21. Fall Neighborhood Groups launch in September.
