MONTH IN REVIEW

MARCH 2026

3/31/2026

NOTE FROM PASTOR MARK
A few weeks ago, I was walking my daughter to the school bus. I looked up to see a wideopen blue sky above me. This winter had seemed awfully long, and to simply get outside and not have a ceiling over me, felt so good for the soul. In Psalm 23, David writes how God restores his soul. Sometimes it is the simple things that can bring restoration on the inside.  It is good to get outside and enjoy God’s creation (and if needed take some allergy medicine). It is good to be reminded that life is so much larger than our own existence. It is good to step out of our comfort zones and see how God will meet us there. It is good to see God restore you. Although this is being written for March, we are just on the other side of Easter. It was a great week of serving our community with the Spring Carnival. Then during Holy week to have a Good Friday service to sit with the death of Jesus and then on Easter (Resurrection) Sunday to celebrate with so many how Jesus brings restoration through the resurrection. My hope and prayer for you is that you would experience God’s restoring presence in your life and may you look up and see a life much more expansive than what any of us can imagine.

MINISTRIES

NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS
Leader: Karin Sauder, [email protected]
A safe place for children to meet Jesus, know Jesus & learn to share Jesus.

Happy Spring everyone! We want to start out welcoming our newest Neighborhood Kid, Zuri Faith Nvule, who was born at the end of February. Congrats to her parents Rachel and Henry, and big brother Zaneh! In class this month we have been studying how and why Israel was divided into two kingdoms, and why only God is worthy of our worship. Two events this month made this a great start to spring: First, we had a successful and amazing Spring Carnival, with 828 people coming to join us for the festivities on that gorgeous sunny day. The second event was Palm Sunday, which also coincided with Together Sunday this time. We had a fun and joyous service with lots of kids and a Palms Procession. Hosanna! We can’t wait for Easter!

NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH
Leader: Eric Peacock, [email protected]
A place where teens belong, believe (in Jesus) and become (all that God has intended for them to be).

For March, Neighborhood Youth concluded our Hearing God's Voice series. The last session addressed hearing from God through nature--with us sitting around a fire pit, making S'mores and discussions on different ways we can hear from God. We also assisted with prepping the NY area for the Annual Spring Carnival. We will also have a tournament game night with games on Wii and the Switch, board games and Karaoke, finishing out the month of March, as we prepare for our upcoming series on the Holy Spirit, in April.

WORSHIP & PRODUCTION TEAM
Leader: Mel Neely, [email protected]
We are a diverse community of followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by His Spirit with one heart and one mind to invite and lead in declaring His worth.

The Neighborhood Church Worship & Production team also continues to lift high the name of
Jesus through our in person and online services. This March, Mel Neely and Adaora led worship during our Sunday services along with our dedicated team of instrumentalists and vocalists.

On Thursday evenings the team engaged with devotionals encouraging each other to look full on the wonderful face of Jesus by incorporating devotional times led by Eric and Mel. We shared praises and prayer requests, praying for each other and over Neighborhood Church.

This month we warmly welcomed Alem Thomas to the team as a vocalist! She shared her powerful Jesus story with the team at practice. She blessed the congregation by reading from Romans 8 on her first Sunday serving and adding rich harmonies to worship, including the new to Neighborhood Church song, “All Hail King Jesus”

Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD ! Praise the LORD !
Psalm 150: 4-6

We are thankful to have a truly multigenerational team with middle school, high school and adult volunteers working together to make our Sunday services in person and online possible. This month we welcomed Vance Newsome to the Production team. He has a huge heart to serve and is willing to be cross trained in audio, livestream and presentation. He is currently training on livestream under the direction of Solomon Jack. We are also grateful to welcome Honna Trinkl back to the sound team as she wraps up her Senior year. We are praying for God to bring more workers to serve Him at Neighborhood Church!

BECAUSE of God’s faithfulness, our Worship & Production Team is living on mission as a multi-
ethnic, multigenerational team being transformed by Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit and inviting the Neighborhood Church family to be launched on mission with them!

NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS
Leader: Pam Homan, Matt Sale & Mark Trinkl, [email protected]
A place for making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and being launched on mission together.

The winter session for Neighborhood Groups is wrapping up during the month of March. Our seven groups (with over 60 adults participating) met at least 8 times this semester with the purpose of making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and living on mission together to make a difference in the world. Neighborhood Groups continue to be a great way to be connected and support one other in our life's journeys.

We will offer Triads to meet during the summer months as well as offering a Women's Book Club. Triads are an intentional relationship with Jesus and three individuals as part of the Discipleship Pathway at Neighborhood Church. The format includes daily shared Scripture reading and meeting together throughout the summer, whether in person or online.

Please watch the announcements for both of these upcoming opportunities.
