NEW MASK POLICY & UPDATES

6/1/2021

Hello Church!

As mentioned on Sunday morning, I wanted to communicate our plans in regard to those attending our worship service in person.  It has been a challenging season, but I greatly appreciate your patience, faithful service, and loving consideration of others during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we move forward, we have exciting and hopeful news as we continue to move back towards a full reopening and normalcy. For some, this may feel a bit slow; for others, it’s a bit too fast. Our hope and prayer is that we might be, as the Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4:3, “eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” as we take these steps towards gathering fully together once again.

New Mask Policy
In accordance with the CDC, Governor Hogan and the Montgomery County government, as of Friday May 28th Montgomery County have lifted the mask mandate for individuals who are immunized, whether through vaccination or prior confirmed infection. Those persons may come to the church and participate without a mask. This includes any activities held on Neighborhood Church’s campus in addition to our worship services.  Please note that we respect your medical privacy and will not be asking if people are vaccinated.  You are welcome to share at your discretion, but please respect the privacy of others as well.

Parents should consider having their children wear masks at indoor services and other events but this will be left to the discretion of the parents. Please note, that CDC policy still is to have children in school wear masks.

Please keep in mind that we may have people who may not yet be fully immunized and those who do not feel comfortable to be near unmasked persons. In love and understanding, We ask that those enjoying the freedom of unmasked attendance help with the 6-ft social distancing provision and consider bringing a mask with you to wear when talking with your masked friends.  Of course, you are also free to wear a mask and sit anywhere.

County, State, and CDC guidelines can change frequently, and we will regularly monitor any developments and adjust as necessary. We ask for your grace and are grateful for all who call Neighborhood church home.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Mark Trinkl

 Summary of Changes

  • Mask mandate at Neighborhood Church has been lifted.
  • Masks are recommended for any person not fully immunized. This affects corporate worship and all other indoor activities at Neighborhood Church
  • Indoor services will still provide socially distanced sections and will adjust as needed.
  • We respect parental discretion whether their children wear masks at indoor services and other events (please take note of CDC guidelines for children in schools).
  • We will continue offering hand sanitizer at various places throughout the church.
  • At the end of June, we will no longer pre-register for our worship service.
  • We will continue to provide an offering box for connect and prayer cards and your offerings.

COVID-19 Updated AUGUST 17 2020

 Dear Neighborhood Church Family,

I am grateful for all of you and long to connect with you in meaningful ways.  As we look around Montgomery County and the larger nations, unfortunately, COVID-19 continues to spread. The hope was to have in-person gatherings for those who desire, but we are currently in a holding pattern.

Although we are not physically meeting, let me remind you…. You are the church!

You might ask me how am I the church? Well through your generosity;

  • Over 60 people have connected with Neighborhood groups this year.
  • Made 2 new commitments to Shady Grove pregnancy center and Remember Nhu.
  • Filled a point person position for all 10 areas of commitment (3 local, 2 Global, 56 Households being supported)
  • Given over $28,000 to missions
  • Donated $1,150 to support Envision El Salvador after Tropical storm Amanda.
  • Given over 940 breakfast, 280 hot dinners, and 1,00 plus supplies to Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless,
  • Supported around 15 small business through the farmers market and had over 30 different volunteers given more than 155 hours serving.
  • Given out 2 Neighborhood Grants
  • Seen three people say yes to Jesus for the first time.
  • Provided meals to families with babies.
  • Trained Children’s volunteers virtually
  • Hosted many Neighborhood Groups and prayer groups virtually.
  • Trained and added members to the worship team.
  • And more

Give yourself a humble pat on the back my friends, for you are being the church!!!  You are bringing hope to the hopeless, resources to the desolate. Encouragement to the discouraged, opportunities to the needy. You my friends are showing and sharing Jesus in many ways and I believe more opportunities are coming. My hope is we will continue to be the church as we continue with a spirit of  generosity with your time talents and treasure, with the hope that many people will be transformed by Jesus empowered by the Holy Spirit and launched on mission.

Coronavirus Update August 3

8/3/2020

 Dear Neighborhood Church Family,

We have now entered the month of August and the 22nd week of virtual church.

I wish there was an update to give as we look towards reopening at some point, but for now we remain at the status quo.

Let me remind you the church is not a building; it is the people of God living out the purposes of God wherever you are. As Jen stated yesterday, we need to stay together especially during these times. It is easy to isolate and become discouraged, but don’t give in… keep going, keep connecting and trusting God will work out his plans.

I am praying for you and as a church we are here to help.

Grace and Peace.

Pastor Mark

Coronavirus Update July 12

7/13/2020

 Dear Neighborhood Church Family,

Another week has passed as we continue in the midst of COVID-19 and Phase 2 of reopening in Montgomery County. I love to see many of you connecting with our live stream, connecting in Neighborhood Groups, and giving of your time, talent and treasure to see God’s mission advance from our neighborhoods to the nations. It is a privilege to serve alongside all of you.

As we still look towards reopening the building, we are in a holding pattern in stage 2. I would love to have more things in person but also recognize it will still take some time. I appreciate your flexibility and continued prayers and look in hope towards to future.

Grace and Peace.

Pastor Mark

Coronavirus Update July 6 2020

7/6/2020

 Dear Neighborhood Church Family,

Happy 4th of July. I hope you enjoyed an extended weekend and being reminded of the many freedoms we do have in spite of the struggles. Also, for those who came out to the Picnic, I hope it was enjoyable to see some other people, while still taking necessary precautions.

As of Monday, we are continuing in the status quo of Phase 2 of reopening in Montgomery County.  With all of the rising case of COVID-19 across the nation, it seems like Phase 3 is still a way off.

I feel like the apostle Paul as I write that I long to see you in person but know the present circumstance limit that interaction. As we know more, we will keep you up to date.

Grace and Peace.

Pastor Mark
