Neighborhood Church is part of the U.S. Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). There are about 52 C&MA churches in our Mid-Atlantic District (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia & Washington D.C.) and about 2,000 churches nationwide with more being added through church planting.

Neighborhood is directly financially supporting a regional church planter serving a unique population: the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people group. Our region has one of the highest concentrations of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the world. With 300+ million Deaf people scattered all over United States, only 2-4% of this people group claims a relationship with Jesus Christ and many lack Gospel access in their heart language (same as the percentage of believers from Muslim and Hindu backgrounds). Our District church planter, Bruce Persons, started The Table Church in Frederick, MD designed for this population with small groups and worship services in American Sign Language (ASL). He also serves as our first C&MA Chaplain at Gallaudet University and coordinates Bison Christian Fellowship (BCF). They live-stream their weekly ASL Sunday worship services and Thursday Night Live services for Bison Christian Fellowship, a C&MA ministry to young people at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. Several hundred people engage with the Gospel through their broadcasts every week.
