NOTE FROM MARK Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12 It only feels like a short time ago that I was writing an introduction to 2024 and now we are already approaching the end of the year. If your life is anything like mine, there have been joys and sorrows, victories and defeats, health and sickness, growing relationships and ones becoming more distant. Life moves so quickly and if we are not careful, we can become distracted from how God is wanting to work in and through us. Each day is a gift from God and each day we have a decision to make: whether we draw closer to God or drift away. My hope is as we approach the end of one year and look to embrace a new year that God would be a central part of who we are and how we live, both individually and collectively. GREEN HOUSE CHURCH PLANT Devin Calhoun, [email protected] Neighborhood Church Vision: Launch Multiple Gatherings in Multiple Locations (Acts 2:42-47) OCTOBER: This past October has been an extremely busy and great time here for me at Neighborhood Church. I continued meeting with the C&MA Mid-Atlantic District Church Planting Director for mentorship and training. Some of us had the pleasure of spending time with different denominational leaders at the National Association of Evangelicals Prayer Gathering. Where we gathered and prayed with multiple people including John Stumbo, the President of the C&MA. This month all official Alliance Workers in our district gathered for our district conference where we voted and talked about this upcoming year’s business. At the conference, I was given the opportunity to speak and give my testimony to my fellow workers. On October 5th we had our last Derwood Farmer’s Market for this past season and looking back I cannot believe that it is already over. The farmer’s market was a huge success as every week we welcomed hundreds of people onto our property connecting with our local community. This was such a successful year because of all the hard work you did volunteering and the open hearts you all had to give. Thank you once again for all your work and talent this year. I cannot wait until next season! Finally, one of the best parts of October was being launched on mission to Thailand this year. It was my first time being on a missions trip and my first time out of the country. Thank you so much for all your help during this journey. It was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. NOVEMBER: This past November, we had our Church Planting Informational Session where Pastor Mark, Rev. Mark Brumley and I all spoke about the vision and future of church planting here at Neighborhood Church. It was a great time of vision casting and collaboration. If you missed it, there is a recording of it online. https://www.neighborhoodc.org/church-planting.html I continued meeting with the C&MA Mid-Atlantic District Church Planting Director for mentorship and training. We are continuing to pray for what the Lord has in store for us in church planting here at Neighborhood Church. You can be a part of that by becoming a prayer partner by signing up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfXfnVR-u1i2MjNQxRbznSZkUmGZjegAEAkar0wdjGTgxS53Q/viewform MISSIONS TEAM Leader: Natalie, [email protected] To see the people of Neighborhood Church launched on mission to share and show Jesus from our neighbors to the nations.
