NOTE FROM MARK Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” - Hebrews 12:28-29 Do not fear, for I have redeemed you I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. - Isaiah 43:1-3 Over the past month, I have had many conversations with people who have lost their jobs, are feeling very unstable because of all of the changes within the government, changes within government contractors, or are concerned about changes to immigration. In Hebrews 12, we read that the whole world is unstable and shaking…the writer goes on to say that God’s kingdom is unshakable. It is solid ground to stand on when it feels like the earth is quaking around us. Our God is more powerful and a firm foundation to stand on. We also see that it is easy to give into fear and anger instead of faith and trust. God reminds us to not fear but remember the One who has called you by name and is with you in the waters, the rivers, and the fires of difficulties that you face. Please know, as a church, we are praying for you and are here to help. May you keep holding on to the One who is holding on to you.
