NOTE FROM MARK Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. - Isaiah 60:1-2 I love watching the sunrise. There are never two sunrises exactly the same. Each day is unique and beautiful. Each daybreak pushes back the darkness and brings forth the light. As we enter 2025, the word that keeps coming to mind is, “arise!” Arise and take hold of what God has for you this year. Arise out of the darkness and into the light. Arise from the ashes of the past into the beauty of what God has for you. Arise and shine for God’s glory and purpose! Each day provides us with an opportunity to invite Jesus into our moments and emotions, our pains and pleasures, our success and failure. My prayer is each day you would arise and let the light of Christ shine in and through you.
MINISTIRESNEIGHBORHOOD KIDS Leader: Karin Sauder, [email protected] A safe place for children to meet Jesus, know Jesus & learn to share Jesus. After a busy and fun holiday season, in January we focused on getting our Neighborhood Kids started on a new curriculum called The Gospel Project. It is a process to get all the elements put together and get all our volunteers trained, but it has gone very well. I am so proud of our team for patiently and graciously working together to learn how to utilize these great lessons. We are really excited about it and we hope all the parents will take advantage of the great parent resources that are coming!! NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH Leader: Tim Allen, [email protected] A place for teens to meet Jesus, know Jesus & be encouraged to share Jesus. In the beginning of the month, Neighborhood Youth did not meet due to a New Years break and snow/school closures. It was great to finally get back together. We did a short Bible Project series on “exile,” which sparked great conversations amongst the students. It was also this month that Tim shared with the youth and church about his transition into chaplaincy at the end of this summer. It is bittersweet but we are looking forward to these next months together including trips to DYR and LIFE. Please pray for a healthy transition and God to build a team for this next season of ministry. WORSHIP & PRODUCTION TEAM Leader: Mel Neely, [email protected] We are a diverse community of followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by His Spirit with one heart and one mind to invite and lead in declaring His worth. Happy 2025! We enter the new year with praise on our hearts. The Neighborhood Church Worship & Production team continues to lift high the name of Jesus through our in person and online services. This month Mel Neely and Adaora led worship during our Sunday services along with our dedicated team of instrumentalists and vocalists. We also welcomed back our Worship Artist, Kristen Sauder on Sunday, January 26! On Thursday evenings the team engaged with devotionals encouraging each other to look full on the wonderful face of Jesus by incorporating devotional times using the 40 Days of Prayer materials. Mel led these times each week. We shared praises and prayer requests, praying for each other and over Neighborhood Church. The team introduced a new-to-Neighborhood Church song to go with our 40 Days of Prayer Sermon series called, “Sovereign”. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=RDKaO8U70M9Hs&playnext=1&si=KN2c7LnjcRO_k2FU Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD ! Praise the LORD ! Psalm 150: 4-6 We are thankful to have a truly multigenerational team with middle school, high school and adult volunteers working together to make our Sunday services in person and online possible. We are excited about the addition of new team members! Natalie is up and running with presentation and is running sound solo! Devin will continue to come out to practices to learn the sound board with Bryan. Solomon is in the process of training two new members for the Live Stream Team as well. God is bringing workers to serve Him and we continue to pray for more! BECAUSE of God’ s faithfulness, our Worship & Production Team is living on mission as a multi- ethnic, multigenerational team being transformed by Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit and inviting the Neighborhood Church family to be launched on mission with them! NEIGHBORHOOD GROUPS Leader: Pam Homan, Matt Sale & Mark Trinkl, [email protected] A place for making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and being launched on mission together. We began another semester of Neighborhood Groups in January with over 70 adults participating in a variety of studies. MISSIONS TEAM Leader: Natalie, [email protected] To see the people of Neighborhood Church launched on mission to share and show Jesus from our neighbors to the nations.
