LEANING INTO COMMUNITY FOR REAL RELATIONSHIPS
Neighborhood Groups are our primary venue for making friends, inviting God's transformation through Scripture and prayer, and living on mission together to make a difference in the world. Our adult Neighborhood Groups are semester based, and meet regularly. Two to three times a year we share a group menu with all the options for the coming semester. We will help you find a group that is the best match for where you are on your spiritual journey, as well as for your schedule.

WINTER/SPRING 2026 SEMESTER:
Group 1: Sundays, 12:15-2:00pm at Neighborhood Church Cafe. Includes lunch. Childcare available. Led by Sarah Luse & Solomon Jack. Hosted by Wendy Geraci. Group will start February 1 and conclude by March 29.
A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by W. Phillip Keller Psalm 23 is one of the most memorized passages and yet shepherds are uncommon in our lives today. Our goal through the week and as we gather is to meditate on Psalm 23 and seek words that interpret the shepherd’s life into our personal language. Can we find words that translate into our present shepherd-less world? A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 by W. Phillip Keller will help us understand the shepherd’s role as we seek to understand God’s promised role in our own lives each day. Group 2: Sundays, 12:15-2:00pm at Neighborhood Church lower level. Includes lunch. Childcare available. Led by Pam Homan & Brittany Segundo. Group will start February 1 and conclude by March 29. Joshua: The Power of God's Promises This LifeGuide Bible Study on Joshua reads like an exciting novel--from the miraculous crossing of the Jordan to the crash of the walls of Jericho and the sun stopping in the sky. Through all the twists and turns, you'll witness God's power and faithfulness. Digging into the story of Joshua will encourage you to persevere in your own daily battles and arm you with the most powerful weapons you'll ever need--God's promises. Group 3: Sundays, 2:30-4:00pm in the home of Mark and Mel Neely in Derwood. Childcare available. Led by Matt Sale & Mark Neely. Group will start January 18 and conclude around March 15. The Book of Job video series by Francis Chan Life’s toughest questions often leave us searching for answers: Why do we suffer? Where is God when life falls apart? The Book of Job tackles these profound questions head-on, offering timeless wisdom for today. Join us for an 8-week Bible study based on Francis Chan’s powerful exploration of Job. Together, we’ll dive into the story of a man who had everything—and then lost it all. We’ll wrestle with questions like “Why, God? Why me?” and uncover how Job’s journey of faith speaks to our own struggles." Group 4: Sundays, 5:00-7:00pm at Neighborhood Church. Includes dinner. Childcare available. Led by Mark Trinkl. January 18 and conclude by March 15. For the Health of the Nation: An Evangelical Call to Civic Responsibility How does Scripture help us navigate the complex social issues facing the United States? In this eight-session series, Dr. Walter Kim, president of the National Association of Evangelicals, gathers a team of pastors and leaders to investigate what the Bible says about topics that dominate conversations in our culture: basic human rights, just peace, religious freedom, creation care, justice in issues of race and poverty, and prioritizing life and family. Ed Stetzer, Eugene Cho, Nicole Martin, and Gabriel and Jeanette Salguero explore how we can live out biblical values in tangible, practical ways that honor God and show love to our neighbors. Group 5: Thursdays, 7:00-8:30pm. Young Adults group led by Karina Homan & Natalie Doughty at their apartment in Rockville. Group will start January 29 and conclude by April 2. The Book of James video series by Francis Chan. True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God. Group 7: Thursdays, 7:00-8:15pm via Zoom, led by Steve Beardsley. Group will start January 22 and conclude by March 26. The Book of Philippians series by Jo Saxton. In this 8-session series, we’ll be gaining a perspective on staying encouraged (and encouraging) no matter what life is doing around us.Through Paul's words and example, learn how joy and sacrifice can go hand-in-hand. |
