Will this Church Plant be an independent Church?
No, we will be one church that meets in two locations. In church planting terms, we are going multi-site.
What will the two locations be named?
The new location will be called Neighborhood Church Rockville, and the original location will be called Neighborhood Church Shady Grove. Our vision is to see a neighborhood of churches planted within a radius of various metro stops with each location named by their adjacent metro stop.
Will there be live preaching at Neighborhood Church Rockville?
Yes, there will be a live, in-person message rooted in scripture and relevant to life.
When will Neighborhood Church Rockville meet?
Neighborhood Church Rockville will meet Sunday afternoons starting September 7.
Where will Neighborhood Church Rockville meet?
Neighborhood Church Rockville will meet at Rockville Town Square.
How many people are being sent out as the core team to plant Neighborhood Church Rockville?
We are hoping for 20-25 people to be part of the Core Team.
What does it mean to be part of the Core Team?
You must be an official member of Neighborhood Church & commit to serve at NC Rockville for one year.
Can I still attend Neighborhood Church Shady Grove & be part of the core Team/can I attend both locations?
Of course you can! Since this is one church in two locations, we expect some people will attend both. If you commit to be part of the Core Team, we simply ask that you prioritize your involvement to NC Rockville.
How is this church plant being funded?
This is being funded in three ways: (1) General giving to Neighborhood Church. (2) Mid-Atlantic District support for the next two years. (3) Giving to the NC Church Planting fund & giving at NC Rockville.
Is there any concern that we are a small church with limited resources trying to plant another location?
We are a small church with a big heart for our area & the Kingdom of God. Yes, planting a church will cause tension in different areas, but we believe God has led us to this point & as we step out in obedience, He will provide beyond what we could ask or imagine.
